Copra edible drops on sluggish demand

Copra edible prices dropped in an otherwise steady spices market here today due to reduced offtake from stockists and retailers on the back of improved supplies from producing regions.
Meanwhile, rest of the spices ruled stable in the absence of any worthwhile buying.
Copra edible slumped by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 9,000 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 9,500.
Following are today's closing rates in Rs with previous rates in brackets:
Black pepper (per kg) 531/581 (531/581), ginger bleached (per kg) 205 (205), ginger unbleached (per kg) 215 (215), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 8,100 (8,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 8,000 (8,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,800 (9,800), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,000 (9,500).
