Copra prices climb on good demand

Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode, copra edible and copra Rajapur Mumbai climbed further at the spices market here today due to good demand from stockists and retailers amid sustained export offtake.
While, other spices including black pepper and ginger ruled stable in the absence of any large-scale buying.
Copra office Alapuzha, Copra office Kozhikode, Copra Rajapur Mumbai and copra Edible all rose by Rs 500 per quintal each to Rs 12,000, Rs 11,800, Rs 16,500 and Rs 14,500 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 11,500, Rs 11,300, Rs 16,000 and Rs 14,000.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):
Black pepper (per kg) 475/565 (475/565), ginger unbleached (per kg) 130 (130), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 12,000 (11,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,800 (11,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,500 (16,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 14,500 (14,000).
