Copra prices fall on stockists selling, supply pressure

Copra prices across the spectrum of varieties witnessed a steep decline at the spices market here today due to heavy selling pressure from stockists and traders on the back of higher arrivals.
Meanwhile, Black pepper and ginger maintained a steady trend owing to poor buying support.
Copra Rajapur Mumbai dropped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 18,800 from overnight closing level of Rs 19,000.
Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode and copra edible Mumbai all went down by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 10,000, Rs 9,900 and Rs 12,900 as compared to Rs 10,100, Rs 10,000 and Rs 13,000, respectively.

Black pepper (per kg) 680/750 (680/750), ginger bleached (per kg) 180 (180), ginger unbleached (per kg) 200 (200), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 10,000 (10,100), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,900 (10,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 18,800 (19,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 12,900 (13,000).
