Copra prices spurt on higher demand

Copra prices spurted at the spices market here today due to heavy demand from stockists and millers on the back of fast approaching festivities.
Black pepper, ginger bleached and unbleached prices maintained a stable trend in the absence of any major buying.
Copra Rajapur shot-up by Rs 600 per quintal to Rs 8,400 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 7,800.
Copra edible surged by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 7,500 from Rs 7,500.
Copra office Alapuzha climbed by Rs 250 per quintal to Rs 6,500 from Rs 6,250.
Copra office Kozhikode also moved up by Rs 150 per quintal to Rs 6,300 as against Rs 6,150 previously.

Black pepper (per kg) 435/465 (435/465), ginger bleached (per kg) 175 (175), ginger unbleached (per kg) 185 (185), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,500 (6,250), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,300 (6,150), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 8,400 (7,800) Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 7,500 (7,000).
