Copra rises on increased demand

In restricted activity, copra prices rose by Rs 200 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale dryfruits market today on upsurge in demand from retailers.
However, other dryfruits held steady in thin trade.
Traders said uptick in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing belts, mainly pushed up copra prices.
In the national capital, copra traded higher by Rs 200 to Rs 8,400-10,700 per quintal.

Almond (California) Rs 16,450-16,650, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 11,350-11,650, Almond (Girdhi) Rs 5,500-5,700; Abjosh Afghani Rs 5,000-22,000.
