Copra rises on pick-up in demand

Copra prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the local dry fruits market in the national capital today on rising demand from retailers.
However, other dry fruits traded in a tight range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.
Marketmen said increased demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to the rise in copra prices.
Copra prices were up by Rs 50 to Rs 20,550-22,550 per quintal.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 18,400 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 7,900-8,100; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 4,600-4,800; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-22,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 640-660 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 500-540 per kg.
