Copra strengthens on consistent demand

Copra prices strengthened further at the spices market here today on consistent demand from stockists and retailer amid sustained export offtake on the back of restricted arrivals.
Rest of the spices held steady in the absence of any largescale buying activity.
Copra Rajapur shot up by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 23,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 22,500.
Copra office Alapuzha climbed by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 10,000 from Rs 9,700.
Copra office Kozhiode and copra edible Mumbai moved up by Rs 200 per quintal each to Rs 9,800 and Rs 13,700 as against Rs 9,600 and Rs 13,500 last weekend.

Black pepper (per kg) 710/760 (710/760), ginger bleached (per kg) 220 (220), ginger unbleached (per kg) 240 (240), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 10,700 (9,700), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,600 (9,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 22,000 (21,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,700 (13,500).
