Cops crack infant abduction case, arrest five

Police today rescued a male infant who was kidnapped last week from King George Hospital here, and handed him over to his mother after arresting five persons in this connection.
Four persons, including two women, working in KGH, abducted the infant from the maternity ward and sold it to a childless woman identified as M. Rani in the city.
On a complaint lodged by the infant's mother, police scanned the CCTV footage and apprehended M. Aappalanaidu alias "Terminator" and B.Rajuu alias Repuraju--both working in the hospital morgue, besides B. Prabhavati and M. Krishnavenu who were attached to Sanitary department, for allegedly abetting the crime.
Police said the accused sold the infant to Rani, a resident of Gajuwaka area in the city, for Rs 30,000.
