The Goa police today submitted a closure report before a court in Canacona in connection with the death of a Swedish tourist in the coastal state in 2015.
Felix Dahl (then aged 22), a Swedish national, had come to Goa on a holiday in December, 2014. He was found dead on an isolated road in Canacona taluka of South Goa district on January 28, 2015, according to the police.
His mother Minna Pirhonen, who suspected that her son was murdered, later claimed that the Canacona police had not investigated her son's death properly.
She had also approached the Bombay High Court at Goa in August last, pleading for setting up of guidelines for investigating the deaths of foreign nationals in the state.
She had also written to Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, seeking his intervention in the case.
Canacona police inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai, the investigating officer in the case, said today that there was no evidence to indicate that Dahl was murdered.

Hence, no charge sheet will be filed in the case, he said.
"The closure report has been submitted before the judicial magistrate, first class, Canacona," he told PTI.
The police investigation in the case had revealed that Dahl was last seen in a restaurant near Patnem beach in Canacona, which is located around 200 metres from the place where his body was found, Prabhudesai said.
During the investigation, the police had interrogated several people, including two men from Jaipur.
Dahl's family members suspected them to be behind his death, the police added.
