Cops foil suicide bid of man

Police today foiled a man's bid to commit suicide in a private bank here where his wife is working, police said.
According to police, the man, identified as Ashwin works with a software firm and had been in a marital dispute with his wife for the past few months.
"Today, he entered into the private bank where his wife is employed, with a kitchen knife. The security personnel stopped him and asked him to leave the bank premises," Gopalpuram Police Station Inspector Ch Sridhar said.
Police was immediately informed and following a complaint a case on charges of criminal trespass, wrongful restraint and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of IPC was registered against Ashwin and he has been taken into custody, the Inspector said.
During preliminary investigation it has been revealed by the man that he "planned" to commit suicide in the bank following a fight with his wife, the police officer added.
