The police of Maharashtra and bordering states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have decided to share information on intelligence and criminals on a regular basis, a top official said here today.
This was decided at the 'inter-state and inter-district crime coordination' conference held in the second capital of Maharashtra.
"In a fresh initiative, the police of the three states came together for sharing the information on intelligence, absconders and wanted criminals, and to discuss the concerted efforts to restrict illegal weapons as well as sand mining," said Nagpur Police Commissioner K Venkatesham.
He said senior officers from Madhya Pradesh, Chhatthisgarh, besides those from the Gadchiroli, Amravati and Nagpur range in Maharashtra participated in the conference.
"The major emphasis of the conference was on creating a mechanism on sharing the information on various factors on a regular basis. We also discussed the ways in which we can exchange such information through regular meetings at various levels as well as through digitally," he told PTI.
