"Special squads have been formed at police station-levels and a committee in every zonal level. The meetings of this squad and the committee will take place regularly", Police Commissioner Satya Pal Singh said today.
Against the backdrop of growing eve-teasing incidents, patrolling and vigilance have been stepped up at railway stations, bus stops, markets and other public places to curb such heinous crimes.
"We have already addressed 250 colleges and over 800 principals through our operation 'Mritunjay'", he said.
"If any school or college student commits eve-teasing or molestation then after registering a case, his parents and teacher would be summoned and apprised", Singh said.
The top cop said any crime against women will be monitored by a Zonal Deputy commissioner of Police. "DCP will monitor the case and there would be a time-bound investigation in place in such crimes", he added.
The police commissioner said that police have started counselling centres for women at many places.

"We have started a drive against the drug addicts who sit outside the stations or at secluded places and make derogatory comments against women", Singh said, adding till now police have rounded up around 100 such addicts.
Singh claimed that the city has witnessed a decrease in the number of crimes against the women compared to the last year.
