Coriander prices drifted lower by 1.68 per cent to close at Rs 4,806 per quintal in futures market today as participants cut down positions amid sluggish domestic as well as export demand against ample stocks position.
Besides, higher supplies from major growing regions influenced coriander futures.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, coriander prices for delivery in the October month declined by Rs 82, or 1.68 per cent, to close at Rs 4,806 per quintal, with an open interest of 38,910 lots.
On similar lines, the contract for this month delivery was trading lower by Rs 50, or 1.11 per cent, to end at Rs 4,465 per quintal, the open interest of the contract stood at 850 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in coriander futures to subdued demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions.
