Coriander and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today in view of low demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks position.
Coriander prices fell by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 7,400-13,400 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 18,600-18,800 and Rs 21,600-22,100 per quintal.
Marketmen said muted demand from retailers and stockists due to cash crunch in the market after the government last week banned 500 and 1,000 rupee notes mainly pulled down coriander and jeera prices.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 170-230, black pepper (per kg) 700-820, betel-nut (kg) 240-295, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 920-940 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 970-1,140.
