Coriander, jeera rise as demand picks up

Coriander and jeera prices went up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely on the back of a pick-up in demand from local parties and overseas enquiries.
Coriander prices increased by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 11,500-16,500 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 15,900-16,400 and Rs 19,900-20,400 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists amid rising export demand, mainly pushed up coriander and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 150-190, black pepper (per kg) 660-825, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,330-1,430 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,680-1,730.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 760-810, cardamom (colour robin) 740-770, cardamom bold 760-780, cardamom extra (bold) 880-930 and cloves 680-780.
