Coriander, jeera rise on tight supply

Coriander and jeera prices went up by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today amid supplies from producing belts against fresh buying by retailers and stockists.
Besides, firming trend in futures market supported the uptrend.
Coriander prices rose by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 11,200-17,200 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also went up by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 11,100-11,300 and Rs 14,300-14,800 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up coriander and jeera prices at wholesale kirana market here.
Following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain (per kg) 14,200-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 775-950, betel-nut (kg) 285-335, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,420-1,430 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,525-1,650.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 750-800, cardamom (colour robin) 650-670, cardamom bold 670-700, cardamom extra (bold) 870-890 and cloves 725-860.
