Coriander, Jeera weaken on subdued demand

Coriander and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Weakening trend in futures market also put pressure on the select spice prices.
Coriander prices fell by Rs 100 to Rs 7,400-12,400 per quintal.
Jeera common and best quality also declined by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 11,900-12,300 and Rs 15,900-16,100 per quintal.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks, mainly pulled down coriander and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
The following are today's quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 540-670, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,110 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,300.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 670-770, cardamom (colour robin) 620-720, cardamom bold 670-720, cardamom extra (bold) 820-920 and cloves (kg) 850-900.
