Corporate group comes to aid of underprivileged children
Press Trust of India Kolkata Fifty underprivileged children, including some afflicted by cerebral palsy, took part in a event hosted by a real estate group to harness their creativity and help them join the mainstream.
The children, around 43 hailing from slums and the rest from the Institute of Cerebral Palsy, performed in musical plays and skits yesterday, a spokesman of the Belani Group, who undertook the CSR initiative, said.
Group chairman Nandu Belani said the cost of education of all the 50 children will be borne by the group till class 12, and that it has donated Rs 1 lakh to the Institute of Cerebral Palsy.
"We brought icons like RJ Den to the carnival to instill belief in these specially gifted children that they can also make it big with will power," he added.
