Corporates to deposit 2 per cent CSR budget with Guj govt

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today announced that state-based companies would have to deposit two per cent of their CSR budget to the state government.
She made the announcement while inaugurating the manufacturing plant of Asian Aerosol OAN Pvt Ltd in Eklera village of Umbergam taluka of Valsad district, a press release said.
Patel said that from April this year, corporates would have to deposit two per cent of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) allocations with the government.
She added that her government would utilise these funds for construction of toilets and building automated kitchens for anganwadi (government run child welfare centre), the release said.
Cervical cancer detection kits would now be manufactured at a plant being set up in the industrial town of Vapi in Valsad district, the Chief MInister said.
Patel launched the i-Poshan software, designed to monitor anganwadi children in the state.
The 73-year-old leader said that 100 anganwadis in Valsad district have been given tablet computers pre-loaded with i-Poshan software in the first phase.
The software would provide all information regarding number of children in the district, their daily attendance, quantity of food, take home ration, weight, education as well as vaccination details, the release said.
