Cough syrup and cattle seized in Assam

Altogether 300 boxes of cough syrup bottles and 70 cattle heads were seized from four trucks on the National Highway 31 in Bogribari area in Kokrajhar district of Assam today.
The cough syrup consignment, packed in 300 boxes with each containing 160 bottles, was seized from an Agartala-bound truck, Superintendent of Police Rajen Sing said here.
The grey market value of the seized cough syrup was around Rs one crore, he said.
Police also arrested six cattle smugglers with 70 cattle heads in three trucks from Bogribari area as animals were being smuggled out to Bangladesh and other areas, he said.
