"I have in my hand the phone used by Abu Salem in jail. We all know for which crime he is languishing in the prison. If he is getting such luxuries in jail, what is the condition of prisons in our state?" Munde (NCP) questioned and demanded a probe.
The extradited gangster was convicted by a special court in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case. He is currently lodged in Taloja jail in Navi Mumbai.
"I am ready for any inquiry (to ascertain if this is actually the phone used by Salem). How can an anti-national get such facilities in jail? This phone should be sent for forensic analysis to ascertain the truth. Many more things would be revealed in the inquiry," he said while speaking on a motion moved by him in the Upper House.
In a dig, Munde said the BJP led government should make corruption "legal" as it is not taking any action against two ministers.
