Within hours after taking oath, the Council of Ministers in Odisha today endorsed the ruling BJD's manifesto in principle and committed to implement it in a phased manner.
"In the first meeting of the Council of Ministers, it was resolved to approve the manifesto in principle and to make all out efforts to implement the promises made to people in a phased manner," Chief Minister Patnaik told reporters here.
He said the manifesto will be implemented following due process of the government.
"Perhaps for the first time a political party guarantees to fulfill the primary infrastructure needs in areas of road communication, drinking water, electrification, irrigation, agriculture and education in both rural and urban areas...
"And along with provision of adequate funds, shall fulfill these minimum needs in a time bound manner so that these benefits go to the people of Odisha in time," Patnaik had said after releasing party manifesto prior to the twin elections.
