Counter terror force named as 'Garuda Force'

The force will two operational groups to ensure a 24/7 round the clock response capacity, a police statement said.

The Force is already in existence and is a National Security Guard (NSG) like organisation with special weapons and equipment, training, operational doctrine and procedures.

The "Garuda Force" has already conducted Counter Terror Workshops and Counter Terror Mock Drills in various Police Ranges and Commissionerates including Bangalore City and is in a high state of operational preparedness, the statement said.
