Bureau of Energy Efficiency's (BEE) Director General Ajay Mathur said that investments should be made in the renewables sector to enhance energy security and meet future demands.
"Green building revolution, high-end efficiency products and mass awareness creation are needed to make India an energy efficient country," he added.
Private and public power players should collaborate and develop an effective management system for power generation and distribution, Mathur noted.
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd's CEO and Executive Director Praveer Sinha said that development of green technologies, energy efficient electronic products and GPS- based power energy meters would help in ensuring an energy efficient future.
A report on energy management for competitive advantage prepared by CII and consultancy KPMG was also released during the occasion.
