Couple found dead at railway tracks

A couple allegedly killed themselves by jumping before a moving train in Muradnagar area of the district today.
Their mutilated bodies were spotted by some farmers working in nearby fields. They later informed the police.
The farmers told the police that they saw the couple jumping before an approaching train from Meerut side today morning near Sikri Khurd village.
SHO Deepak Sharma told that the duo has been identified as Ruby (22), a native of Meerut and Aamir (24) a native of Jalalabad village in Murad Nagar.
Initial investigations have revealed that Aamir got acquainted with Ruby during her stay at his sister's residence at Indirapuram.

Aamir was already married when he came in contact with Ruby.

One-and-a-half year ago parents of Ruby married her against her wishes to Ranveer of Barabanki. Even after her marriage she continued meetings with Aamir.
As the girl and boy belonged to different religions both were under duress from their respective communities not to meet each other after their marriages.
A panchayat was convened at Jalalabad village where family members of both the sides persuaded them to be faithful to their respective spouses but they did not pay any heed to the advice.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem after formalities.

The Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) has been deployed in the village in anticipation of any communal flare up.
