The bodies were found, 500 meters away from the Shimurali railway station, between Shimurali and Madanpur stations, around 8pm yesterday, a GRP official said.
The deceased were identified as Pranab Sarkar (24) and Kalyani Halder (19).
They were residents of Sanyalchar Bablatala and Madhya Chanduria respectively under the jurisdiction of Chakdaha police station of the district.
According to locals, they were seen together for the last time on Saturday evening, and they were quarrelling.
Later, the Ranaghat GRP personnel recovered the bodies from the railway track and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
