Couple found murdered in their house

An elderly couple was found murdered at their house in Kharar village here today.
The police have booked Daljit, nephew of the deceased couple identified as Ram Chander and Kanta, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the complaint of a relative of the victims.
In his complaint, Jai Prakash said he had gone to his uncle Ram Chander's house for some work this morning but he found him and his aunt dead lying on their beds in a pool of blood.
"I immediately called my other family members on the spot as no other one was present in the house. The kin rushed to the spot and informed the police about the incident," Jai Prakash told reporters.

The police on investigation found two bullets each in the bodies which were later sent to the civil hospital for postmortem examination.
Later, a team of forensic experts also visited the scene of crime and lifted blood samples from there.

Jai Prakash later suspected the involvement of Daljit in the crime as he had allegedly threatened Ram Chander's kin of dire consequences last night.
He told the police that Daljit was upset with Ram Chander's son Basant over some issue. Though the matter was sorted out between both the families but Daljit wished to take revenge from Basant and his family and hence he may have eliminated his uncle-aunt, the complainant said.

A police spokesman said the couple's bodies were handed over to their kin after the postmortem examination this evening while raids were being carried out to nab the accused, who was absconding after the crime.
