The woman and her lover-turned husband recently appeared before a senior police official and complained that Siddiq Ali, an ex-convict in the 1998 serial bomb blasts case and son of al-umma chief Batcha, had 'kidnapped' them and later handed her over to her parents in return for 'hefty sum', police said.
The woman, who managed to escape from her parents, told the police she had married Mohammed Mukhthar, a choreographer, and converted to Islam.
Based on her complaint, Police today raided the house of Ali and seized over Rs 1.50 lakh and some 'documents'.
Ali was at large, police said.
