Couple tonsured, paraded in Kaushambi

Suspecting an illicit relationship between a 22-year-old woman and a local youth , family members of the woman cut the hair of the duo and paraded them in Nakharkhatti village here today.
The woman, who used to live alone as her husband worked in another district, was suspected by her in-laws of having an illicit relationship with Sunil, who was her husband's friend and used to visit her frequently, police said.
On coming to know of his visit today, the woman's father-in-law, brother-in-law and three others arrived at her house and after beating them, cut their hair and paraded them, Superintendent of Police Ratan Kant Pandey said.

The duo was rescued by the police team which was rushed to the spot, the SP said.
A case has been registered and one of the accused has been arrested, he said, adding that hunt was on to nab others who are absconding.
