The courses have been sponsored at the Amity Institute of Education and Training (AIET) in the area of 'Business Management', 'Small Business and Rural Entrepreneurship' and 'Management of Academic Institutions'.
During the inauguration of the courses here today, Maj Gen (retd) Subash Bindra, Senior Director of AIET, motivated the defence personnel to work hard towards preparing themselves for their second career in civil life.
One of the participants is Maj Monika Slathia who has served in the army for over 10 years and is planning to open up a philanthropic venture in the form of a school or an NGO post retirement.
Another participant Col Atul Sarin, who has served in the army for over 32 years, is getting trained to join the administrative side of education sector after his retirement in March 2013.
Lt Cdr (retd) Vijay Chaudhary, who has served the `Education Branch' of Indian Navy for more than 11 years and has worked with several schools as principal for over 5 years post retirement, has enrolled herself in 'Management of Academic Institutions' course for fulfilling her plans to reach the unreachable by opening a school in a remote part of the country.
