Court awards life imprisonment to two

A court in Bihar's Nawada district today convicted two persons, including an ex-minister's son, to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in a double murder case eight years ago.
The Fast Track Court III Judge Bimal Kumar Singh passed the order sentencing Shekhar Singh alias Pappu Singh and his personal security guard Rampyare Singh to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in the murder case of Rakesh Kumar and Ajay Singh in 2005.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 fine on each of the accused.
Shekhar Singh is the elder son of former minister of state late Aditya Singh.

According to prosecution, the convicted duo had shot dead the victims in a village under Narhat block following political enmity between them during 2005 Assembly polls.
A court had earlier acquitted the former minister and his another son of all charges in the same double murder case for want of evidence, while two other accused persons, including the then Narhat block head were awarded imprisonment.
