A father-son duo have been awarded life imprisonment by a Delhi court for murdering a woman, who had lodged a molestation case against them.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.32 lakh each on Mohan Lal and his son Vickey after holding them guilty under various sections of the IPC, including 302 (murder), 354 (outraging the modesty of woman).
"Prosecution has succeeded to bring home the guilt of accused Mohan Lal and Vickey beyond the shadow of all reasonable doubts for the offences....I hereby hold both of them guilty thereunder," Additional Sessions Judge Pawan Kumar Jain said.
The court, however, acquitted Mohan Lal's sons Bunty and Manish in the case, saying that there was no credible evidence to hold them guilty in the matter.
According to police, an FIR was lodged on a complaint by the victim's brother that Mohan Lal and his sons had entered into their house in Bapa Nagar here on July 30, 2011 and assaulted his family members with knife and iron rods.
The complainant said that his sister had earlier lodged an FIR against Mohan Lal and his three sons for allegedly molesting and hurting her and the case was listed for hearing before a court here on July 30, 2011.
