Additional Sessions Judge, First Track Court No 1, S K Dash yesterday convicted the eight persons and sentenced them to five rigorous imprisonment.
The judge pronounced the judgement while disposing a case relating to burning of houses belonging to minority community at a village under Daringbadi police station area of Kandhamal.
According to the prosecution, the eight people had attacked the houses of the minority community people on August 26, 2008.
An FIR was lodged by one Rajesh Pradhan one of the victim of Gadadi village revealed.
