Police wanted the remand to be extended by a day but the Court rejected its plea after hearing the arguments of the defense.
A police officer confirmed that Ramanand was granted bail by the court.
Meanwhile, Shimla district administration has asked migrant labourers coming here for work to get identity cards and also file sworn affidavit giving details about their permanent residence and place of stay in Shimla etc.
"Identity cards and affidavit have been made mandatory for migrant labourers, street vendors and others who have no permanent place of work," Shimla Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap said.
Ramanand was arrested on January 30 in connection with the January 23 seizure of 17,000 litres of illegally extracted cedar oil from the Chopal forest here.
He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Indian Forest Act for keeping the cedar oil hidden in the forest.
