Additional Sessions Judge Gautam Manan convicted Bihar resident Pramod Kumar Jaiswal as victim Geeta was last seen with her husband in her rented accommodation.
"The circumstances proved in the case are leading to the only hypothesis that accused (Jaiswal) has committed the offence. Therefore, the court cannot acquit him of the offence merely because the motive for committing the offence has not been established," the court said.
The court said the room, where Geeta was found murdered, was locked after the incident. Its key was found from the possession of Jaiswal and he was unable to explain the circumstances leading to the death of his wife.
According to the prosecution, Geeta was found murdered in May 2011 in the house in Sector 8 of Dwarka, which the couple had taken on rent 15 days before the incident.
