Police had registered cases under IPC sections 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 368 (wrongly concealing or keeping in confinement), 377(unnatural offences) and various sections of Juvenile Justice Act against Jonathan Robinson, who was absconding since August last year after the 15-year old boy was rescued from the children's home at Chinnamalpuram in Valliyoor.
Tirunelveli District Police had issued a look-out notice for Jonathan and a charge sheet was filed in the case before the Vallioor Judicial Magistrate.
According to a complaint given by Tirunelveli Child Welfare Committee to the police, the boy had been taken to Shimla, Kodaikal and Delhi on different occasion by Robinson and sexually abused him.
The incident came to light when R A H Siguran and Suganthi Shaiju of the Bangalore-based voluntary organisation Justice and Care approached Tirunelveli Child Welfare Committee on August 12, 2011, and gave a written complaint that a child staying at Grail Trust here, which was funded by foreigners, was sexually abused and tortured by Robinson.
