A court here has ordered CID to investigate afresh the alleged torture of a woman of Sattor in Birbhum district and submit a complete charge sheet, after rejecting the one submitted by the investigating agency on March 12.
While refusing to admit the CID charge sheet on March 12, chief judicial magistrate Indranil Chatterjee had asked CID investigating officer Prasanta Nandi to appear before the court today to make clarifications on certain points.
After hearing the arguments of the lawyer of the complainant and the public prosecutor of Suri court, the judge ordered CID to make fresh investigation and file a complete charge sheet.
The court found that the CID investigation and the charge sheet filed were based on the case registered only with the Panrui police station and left out the one filed with the Budbud police station.
There was no mention of the progress and findings of the case registered with the Budbud police station in which six Trinamool Congress members were accused.
The court directed the CID to submit a complete charge sheet as early as possible.
In the charge sheet filed on March 12, the CID had accused an SI Kartik Mohan Ghosh and three constables of torturing Haitunnesha Bibi at her parents' house at nearby Kalamdanga village.
Bibi is the relative of a BJP activist of the area wanted by the police in connection with a bomb attack on a TMC worker.
