Judge N K Sudhindra Rao directed the Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta, Bangalore Urban, to investigate the private complaint and submit the probe report by August 17.
Complainant, Abdul Haq Surathi, a city-based social activist, in his June 14 complaint alleged that Baig, a former home minister, had acquired wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income and had made "false" statements to the Lokayukta in his declaration of assets and liabilities.
The complaint names Baig's wife Sabiha Roshan, son Ruman Baig Rehman and family owned Danish Publications Private Limited, Ruman Enterprises Private Limited and Sabiha Apparels Private Limited as the other accused.
The complainant alleged that there are discrepancies in the assets declaration made to the Lokayukta to the tune of Rs 100 crore.
