A court here today ordered the lodging of an FIR against unnamed persons on a complaint filed by Zee News editor Sudhir Chaudhary who alleged "nasty" tweets were being posted on his social networking site Twitter account after an extortion case was registered against him.
Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Vijeta Singh directed the DCP of the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police to lodge an FIR against unnamed persons and also directed him to file a status report before it on April 18.
"This court is satisfied that the complainant (Chaudhary) had disclosed commission of cognisable offences and does not have the means to collect the evidence. Hence, it is ordered that FIR under relevant sections be registered by the DCP, EOW, against unknown persons.
"It shall be ensured that no arrests are made without reasonable cause. Copy of the order be sent to DCP, EOW for due compliance and filing of status report on April 18, 2013," the court said.
