A court here today rejected the bail application of three aides of the Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel, saying their written undertaking to stay away from agitation was "not trustworthy".
Additional sessions judge N G Dave said in the order that the undertaking did not guarantee that the applicants won't commit the crime again.
Further, the charges against the three -- Chirag Patel, Ketan Patel and Dinesh Patel -- was serious, the judge noted.
These three, alongwith Hardik, have moved the Supreme Court seeking to quash the sedition case registered by the Ahmedabad crime branch. The petition is likely to be heard in the first week of April.
The court said it will wait for the Supreme Court order before considering grant of bail.
The three applicants are currently lodged at Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad. They had submitted an undertaking that they will not indulge in any illegal activity and will abide by all the conditions imposed by the court if set free.
The investigating officer had stated in a separate undertaking that they may be given a conditional bail.
The trio were arrested in October last year along with Hardik.
