Dr Mahesh Naikude was arrested today. The special ACB court remanded him in police custody till November 7.
"Naikude was seen in a CCTV footage along with the (other) accused and we want to examine his role," public prosecutor Jaisingh Desai told the court. He also said the police planned to bring Naikude face to face with the three accused already arrested.
The court, therefore, also extended the police custody of the three co-accused -- Sanjay Suradkar (a desk officer in Maharashtra revenue department) Vaibhav Andhale and Devidas Dahifale -- till November 7.
Suradkar and two others were arrested on Saturday, with the ACB officers seizing Rs 23 lakh which was allegedly to be given to a former minister for the copy of an order favourable to the complainant.
ACB also conducted searches at the house of the former minister and recovered five files.
