The court said this was necessary as the report filed by it "does not disclose steps taken by the investigating agency on allegations made in the complaint" by ex-Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta.
"I have also gone through the report. I am satisfied that the report does not disclose steps taken by the investigating agency on allegations made in the complaint," Special Judge Narottam Kaushal said and directed the police to file the fresh status report by August 17.
It said "the decision of the President of India would be final in the matter" as the complaint filed by Gupta against Dikshit are not specific to attract any criminal charge.
Further, the police in its status report said "since the allegations do not constitute a criminal offence, there is no basis for the police to carry out any enquiry/investigation into the complaint.
