Kanda was produced in the court by the Delhi Police which sought his 14-days custody on the ground that his sustained interrogation is required to unearth the whole conspiracy as some material evidence including electronic records are yet to be recovered.

"Therefore, keeping in view the cumulative facts and circumstances and material produced, I am of the considered opinion that seven days police custody remand of the accused Gopal Goyal Kanda shall be sufficient for interrogation and recovery of alleged material.

"The application is allowed for grant of seven days custody remand accordingly," Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate D K Jangala said.

Seeking custody remand of Kanda, prosecutor Rajiv Mohan said that all the circumstances leading to the suicide of victim Geetika can be unearthed only by sustained custodial interrogation of the accused.

He said that the deceased in her suicide note had spelt out the "circumstances of transaction" which resulted in her death and the name of Kanda was also written in the note.

The prosecutor said that they have to recover various material evidence, especially the electronic records, which they can recover only through Kanda.

He said that laptop, mobile phone and various sim cards are yet to be recovered at the instance of Kanda from Gurgaon, Sirsa and other known hideouts and that he is also required to be confronted with co-accused Aruna Chaddha, who is currently in judicial custody in connection with the case.
