Additional Sessions Judge Narinder Kumar dismissed the revision petition moved by Preeti Grover and others against the order of a magisterial court by which they were charged with forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code.
The revision pleas were moved by Grover, Kawal Jeet Singh and Ajit Kumar Gogi challenging the January, 2010, order of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.
The prosecution case was that Grover was then serving as IPO Immigration Programme Officer, Canadian High Commission at Chanakyapuri here, and was competent to grant visitor visa.
Accused Kamal alias Kamaljit Singh was working as travel agent under the name and style Karan Enterprises, while Gogi was working as Kamal's agent at Phillaur in Punjab.
On March 24, 1998, Fatehpur resident Roorh Ram applied for Canadian visa for attending his counsin's wedding. He was interviewed by Chita Bahadur, a personal assisstant at the Canadian High Commission and was refused recommendation for visa.
On the same day, he was interviewed by Grover, who approved his case by putting a note that Ram is well supported, has good savings and well established.
