Ace French footwear designer Christian Louboutin feels Indian couture is at par with the high-end collections shown on the ramps of Milan and Paris.
Louboutin, 52, who was in India to collaborate with designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for his opening show at the ongoing India Couture Week, said this is how fashion should be.
"This is the first time, I have attended a couture fashion show in India. If it is the way, then it's absolutely perfect. It is very nice. It's absolutely a pleasure and nothing more than that," Louboutin told reporters last night.
Donning a red bandhgala, Louboutin walked the ramp alongside Sabyasachi with folded hands.
"It was a very beautiful collection. Of course, I knew the work of Sabyasachi but I had never attended his show. To me it was a great experience. I barely attended any Indian fashion show and I loved the set and outfits. It was exactly the way things are done in Paris," he said.
Louboutin, known for his red-lacquered soles, flew down to India on July 28 from Paris and said the "beautiful" collection took away all his jetlag.

"I am so refreshed after watching the show. I came yesterday and was all exhausted. But now I feel absolutely revived and will be happy to fly back. Now, I have many little butterflies in my head because of the show," said the designer, whose clientele include Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker among many other Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities.
However, the noted designer feels that the collaboration with Sabyasachi happened quite late.
"I can only work with people whom I bond in a personal way and Sabyasachi is one of them. We both share same level of enthusiasm towards our work. I am happy with our collaboration. Now, I can sleep and even he can sleep peacefully," he said.
