Travel company Cox & Kings today said its subsidiary PGL has forayed into Australia with the acquisition of a site as part of its plan to develop markets in the island nation.
PGL, a subsidiary of Holidaybreak, the European Education and Leisure specialist group, has completed its first acquisition of a site outside Europe, as part of its plan to develop markets in Australia, Cox & Kings said in a release issued here.
Holidaybreak is a subsidiary of Prometheon Holdings (UK), which is a part of Cox & Kings.
PGL owns and operates more than 23 centres in the UK and Europe.
The new centre, PGL Campaspe Downs, spread over 200 acres is near Melbourne, Victoria.
It further said that PGL plans to develop the site by upgrading accommodation standards for students and teachers.
The acquisition of the first site in Australia, Campaspse Downs, provides the foundation to roll out the successful European model and break into the Australian residential activity sector with the widest offering of activities, high standards of accommodation and best trained staff, the release added.
