CP Joshi may challenge Ruchir Modi in RCA elections
Press Trust of India Jaipur Former Rajasthan Cricket Association president and union minister in UPA government CP Joshi's name is doing rounds as a likely challenger to Ruchir Modi during association's election slated April 26.
There are rumours that Joshi has been approached by a number of district associations among the 33 that will elect their head.
The 21-year-old Ruchir is now the president of the Alwar District Cricket Association and perceived by many as former IPL czar Lalit Modi's way of controlling the association through his son.
However Joshi will only fight elections if he is sanguine about his numbers in the next 3-4 days.
The senior state Congress leader during last election withdrew because his supporters were poached by Modi faction. While Modi senior became the RCA president, the association was banned by the BCCI as the former IPL boss is also under life-ban. Team Rajasthan played all domestic cricket for last two seasons under the aegis of BCCI.
