"Instead of sanctioning funds to Puducherry, the Prime Minister had slashed the grants and increased the debt burden for Puducherry government. In the circumstances it is indeed amusing that the Chief Minister of Puducherry is continuing alliance with the BJP", he said.
Pandian, who released documents brought out the left parties at a seminar organised by them highlighting the "financial irregularity, fiscal bungling and ostentatious spending by the AINRC government in Puducherry" said the announcement by Prime Minister on 'start up India and Stand up India' made in his Independence Day speech was only aimed at 'hoodwinking the people'.
He said that Rangasamy was repeatedly making plea for statehood for Puducherry. 'This has not been responded to by the Centre inspite of the ruling AINRC here being an ally of the BJP here'. He said that Left parties alone could ensure alternate policies and administration. He criticised the pro corporate policy of the BJP.
CPI national council member N Kalainathan read out resolutions adopted at the seminar which called upon all sections of people to ensure that the September 2 general strike called by the central trade unions and federations was observed as a total bandh in Puducherry.
