"The bipartite talks and negotiations between the government of India and NSCN (IM) seem to have doubtful propositions and as such inclusion of Manipur government in the dialogue process becomes an urgent necessity in order to create confidence in the minds of the people," CPI said in a resolution approved at its two-day National Executive Committee meeting here.
The party also demanded that the Centre be transparent on the issue of peace negotiations with NSCN (IM).
The settlement of the Naga insurgency issue without provoking neighbouring states of the North-East, particularly Manipur, was welcome, it said.
CPI said it has noticed that influx of lakhs of "outsiders" in Manipur without valid documents had created "very high" social tension among ethnic groups in the state.
"Therefore, the National Executive Committee of CPI demands the Union government to consider the unanimous decision of the Manipur Legislative Assembly to introduce and implement an appropriate law that will prevent unlawful entry of outsiders into Manipur and regulate the peaceful co-existence of different groups of people together," a release issued by the party said.
