CPI demands timely completion of Polavaram project by Centre

, Mar 5 PTI) The CPI has demanded, among other things, that the Centre should ensure timely completion of the Polavaram irrigation project, as promised in the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganization Act.
The Andhra Pradesh branch of CPI held a three-day meeting here which ended today.
As many as 30 resolutions were passed, including demand to withdraw amendments to the labour act, passage of the women's reservations bill, reservations in the private sector for SCs and STs and stoppage of bauxite mining in AP.
